The physical therapy team works closely alongside the Mt. Tam physicians to develop and implement rehabilitation guidelines and treatment that maintain the high standard of care Mt. Tam Orthopedics is known for throughout the Bay Area. At Mt. Tam Physical Therapy, your treatment sessions will be one on one with a licensed PT or PTA. We are dedicated to working with you in order to attain your goals and restore strength, ROM, and function.

Our physical therapists specialize in the evaluation and treatment of a diverse group of musculoskeletal conditions, including:

Staff

Morgan L. Fones, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC

Morgan Fones earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California, and continued his specialization in orthopedics by completing the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at USC. He is a board certified orthopedic specialist and is a professional member in the Sports section of the American Physical Therapy Association. While at USC, Dr. Fones was a member of the clinical faculty in the Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, where he taught clinically-based classes to entry-level physical therapy students. Previously, Dr. Fones graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of California at San Diego. Dr. Fones is also a certified athletic trainer and gained experience while working with athletes at the University of California at San Diego and Babson College.

Jason Montour, PT, DPT

Jason Montour earned his doctorate in physical therapy at Northeastern University researching functional hallux limitus in adults. Prior to that, he received his masters in physical therapy from the joint program at UCSF/SFSU participating in chronic CVA rehabilitation via novel neuroplastic interventions. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is currently pursuing certification in advanced orthopedic manual therapy and becoming a certified orthopedic specialist.

He lives in Marin with his family and enjoys road and mountain bicycling as well as hiking. Before coming to San Francisco, he completed his undergraduate at San Diego State, competing on the cycling team. Prior to San Diego, he served in the US Marines for 5 years. He has been an athlete his whole life and is interested in maximizing the potential of all his patients.

Angela Savelli, PT, DPT

Angela graduated second in her class from Daemen College (Amherst, NY) in 2008 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Throughout the course of her studies, she gained valuable clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics while interning for local physical therapy clinics and completing research for her Doctoral thesis. She has also gained experience in neurological rehabilitation while completing an internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center working with patients with acute neurological conditions as well as in an outpatient stem cell transplant research clinic. Post graduation, Angela began working in outpatient physical therapy in the bay area and joined the staff of Mt. Tam Orthopedics in December of 2008.

At Mt. Tam Orthopedics, Angela specializes in the treatment of patients post surgery, as well as with sports injuries, spine injuries, and a variety of other orthopedic based pathologies. She recognizes that each patient is unique and therefore an individualized treatment plan is necessary for each patient to gain restoration of function so that they can return to work, sport, and the demands of every day life. Value is also placed on patient education so that each patient may become more conscious of their body and learn how to prevent further injuries and/or understand their current conditions.

Angela has also played soccer competitively for over 17 years for classic and premiere class club soccer leagues including four years of Division II at the collegiate level. Other athletic experience includes track and field, snowboarding, and power lifting.

Ken Brightman, PTA

Ken was raised in Millis, Massachusetts. He currently resides in Petaluma, CA. He received his (CMT) certification from the Institute for Holistic studies in Santa Barbara CA, in1985. He continued his studies at the New England institue of massage, and graduated in 1988. Ken graduated from De Anza College in 2000, with an AA PTA certification. Other affiliations include, St Marys Hospital, CPMC, and San Francisco General Hospital. He enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, gardening and playing guitar.

Mt. Tam Physical therapy routinely accepts PT prescriptions form physicians outside of Mt. Tam Orthopedics

 

Insurance Coverage

Due to the increasing complexity of health care insurance plans and benefits, Mt. Tam Physical Therapy is NOT always contracted with the same insurance carriers as Mt. Tam Orthopedics. Please be sure to contact your insurance carrier to establish what your specific benefits are for physical therapy.
